Ég er róleg og opin, elska að vera úti í náttúrunni og hef fjölbreytt áhugamál. Ég er menntuð sem lyfjafræðingur og dýralífsfræðingur (www.utes.is). Mikið af hugmyndum mínum fæ ég frá náttúrunni og mikla hugljómun þegar ég vinn við verk mín á vinnustofunni og á það til að gleyma mér tímunum saman og búa til nýja hluti.

Árið 2014 byrjaði ég að sauma úr leðri. Frá árinu 2021 er mjög ánægð að geta kynnt það sem ég hef gert síðastliðinn ár. 

Þegar ég hann verk mín koma hugmyndirnar oft af sjálfum sér. Stundum er ég með fullmótaða hugmynd áður en ég hefst handar. Í hönnunarferlinu hugsa ég oft um notagildi og hagkvæmni hlutarins.

Ich bin eine ruhige aufgeschlossene Naturliebhaberin mit vielseitigen Interessen. Als gelernte (ehemalige) Pharmazeutin und Wildtierbiologin (www.utes.is), die gerne drinnen in der Natur und frischen Luft ist, freue ich mich über kreative Pausen, in denen ich mich ganz der Arbeit mit meinen Händen widmen kann. Werkstätten (vor allem jene mit mir angenehmen unaufdringlichen Gerüchen) erlebe ich als erquickendste labende Kreativräume, in denen ich mich tagelang aufhalten könnte (wenn ich nicht so gern an der frischen Luft wäre). Das ist für mich wie Aromatherapie.

2014 begann ich mit dem Ledernähen. Seit 2021 stelle ich die seit dem gefertigten Dinge auch hier vor. Mögen sie Inspiration finden.

Bei meinen Anfertigungen plane bzw. denke ich wenig. Die Arbeiten entstehen intuitiv während des Tuns oder ich habe schon ein vorgefertigtes Bild. Es passiert auch beides in Kombination. Gerne lasse ich mich inspirieren, stöbere umher und verfeinere dann ganz nach meinem Geschmack und Belieben. Ich schätze das Praktische, was gerne mal in Verspieltem getarnt werden darf und wird. Ich glaube das passiert dann, wenn mir der Pragmatismus zu vordergründig erscheint. Irgendwie macht das Verspielte es dann wieder einfach, weicher oder leichter. Es gibt ihm das noch fehlende i-Tüpfelchen.

I am a quiet open minded nature lover with versatile interests. As a learned (former) pharmacist and wildlife biologist (www.utes.is), who likes to indulge in nature and fresh air, I look forward to creative breaks that I can dedicate to the work with my hands. Workshops (especially those with pleasant unintrusive smells) I experience as the most invigorating creative spaces in which I could stay for days (if I did not like fresh air so much). This to me is like aroma therapy. 

In 2014, I started crafting with leather. Since 2021, I present the hitherto crafted things here. May they inspire.

In my creations I think little. The works are created intuitively while doing, or there already is a picture in front of me. It also happens both in combination. I like to get inspired, browse around and then refine according to my taste and liking. I appreciate the practicality in things that can and will often be disguised in playfulness. Maybe this happens when pragmatism appears too ostensible. Somehow the playfulness makes it easy again, or softer or lighter. It gives it the missing cherry on the cake.
